You are the things you admire and value, you are YOU because of what your heart is made of. It’s not what the society makes you feel, it’s about who you think you are as a person, and define yourself. Society has its way of crumbling us down, with all its stereotypical standards of how a particular career or a title deems one worthy of respect, or how the amount of wealth one holds deems them worthy of admiration and value. You are more than your career, simply because it cannot define who you are as a person, and you are much more worth than that. Now, I don’t mean you shouldn’t have high career goals, but you necessarily needn’t tie your self worth/identity to them. You may not want the same things you want now, in a couple of years or more. So just embrace who you are, right where you are and enjoy life to its fullest.

You are defined by how authentically kind you are. The way you genuinely give, the way you show up and care for a soul in need, your thoughtful gestures, and your sensitive spirit that stays awake at all times so that no one gets hurt, that is what defines who you are. It’s in the way you smile, the way you laugh at the dumbest jokes, the effort you put to make someone feel so special even if it’s not your responsibility. It’s in the way you dance in the rain, stare at the skies, giggle at the butterflies, and the way your feet moves when your favourite song pops up on Spotify. Your warmest embraces, genuine kisses, the way you make kids go insanely crazy about your presence, it’s all in those.
It’s in the way you mindfully communicate, the way you passionately listen, the way you take accountability for your actions, the way you resolve a conflict with utmost kindness and respect, the way you politely disagree while validating the opinion of the other person, the time you invest to understand someone in the deepest manner possible, and in the way you always go above and beyond to paint a smile on a stranger’s face. It’s all in those seemingly insignificant, yet so significant efforts that you exert, it’s right inside you.
