Greetings to all the readers of the second edition of The Missing Link magazine for the year 2024. It is with great pleasure and immense pride that I welcome you to this latest edition of our College Alumni Magazine, TML, which contains valuable insights penned by our esteemed Karunya alumni on various topics. As we embark on another exciting edition of TML, we find ourselves reflecting on the remarkable journey that has brought us to this point since we first stepped out of Karunya. This magazine serves as a testament to the enduring spirit and accomplishments of our alumni, who continue to inspire and lead in diverse fields across the globe.
Karunya has always been a beacon of excellence, fostering not only academic prowess but also a sense of community and purpose. This edition celebrates the milestones achieved by our alumni, from groundbreaking research and entrepreneurial ventures to impactful social initiatives and artistic endeavours. The stories within these pages are vivid reminders of the transformative power of education and the boundless potential that resides within each of our alumni.
We have all faced unprecedented challenges that have tested our resilience and adaptability. Each of our classmates has a story to tell when we meet again. The global pandemic has reshaped our world in ways we are still comprehending, yet, amidst the uncertainty, our alumni have risen to the occasion. I recently participated in the reunion of our batch (89-93) celebrating 35 years of friendship. We had a great time remembering our good old days in college and sharing our life journey. Kudos to the teams organizing such events in each batch of alumni, in the midst of their busy lives.
In this issue, you will find inspiring profiles of alumni who are pushing the boundaries of innovation and making significant strides in their careers. From pioneering scientists and visionary business leaders to compassionate educators and creative artists, their journeys are a source of inspiration for all of us. We also highlight the ongoing efforts of our college to adapt and thrive in these changing times, including initiatives to enhance virtual learning, expand research opportunities, and foster a more inclusive and equitable community. Each year, many new courses are introduced, and there are no limits to embracing new technologies.
Our alumni network is one of our greatest strengths, and your continued engagement and support are vital to our collective success. Karunya alumni meet in almost all major cities and across the globe, periodically. These gatherings are times when we reminisce about the precious moments we spent in college and share the journeys we’ve embarked on since our college days.
As you peruse this magazine, I encourage you to take pride in the achievements of your fellow alumni and to reflect on your own journey since your time here. The bonds we forged at Karunya are enduring, and the shared experiences and values that unite us are as strong as ever. Together, we can continue to build a legacy of excellence and impact that will inspire future generations. I sincerely thank the team involved in putting this magazine together amidst their busy schedules.
We should be ever thankful to God for giving us the opportunity to learn at this institution and for shaping us into who we are today. We are indebted to the founders of this institution and to the current leadership for taking Karunya to greater heights. The word “alma mater” means “nourishing mother.” Yes, Karunya has been a nourishing and bountiful mother in every sense.
