Inside University Life: A Second-Year Student Shares the Latest Campus Updates

Being a student at Karunya has helped me grow in areas I never expected. Karunya provides students with immense opportunities that one may not experience at every university. For example, IAESTE—the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience—is a platform for students from all parts of the world to gain internships abroad. IAESTE India has only four Local Committees, and Karunya is privileged to be one of them, giving Karunya students a significant advantage.

Students collaborate with teachers to produce patents and publish research papers. There is also the SMART India Hackathon, held annually, where students team up to solve global problems innovatively. Every department ensures they hold various conferences, partnering with foreign professors to teach us about developments in our field of study. These opportunities keep us motivated, curious, and allow us to grow into the best versions of ourselves.

At Karunya Technology Business Incubation Park, students can incubate groundbreaking ideas that have the potential to revolutionize the world. Faculty across all departments actively promote the ethos of “Being a Job-Giver, not a Job-Seeker,” encouraging entrepreneurial thinking among students. E-Cell Karunya is a dynamic club where innovative and impactful students come together. Aspiring entrepreneurs are guided and nurtured through mentoring sessions, boot camps, and a comprehensive 360-degree approach to the entire innovation cycle.

The campus is also renowned for its beautiful natural surroundings and refreshing climate. The sight of pristine mountains each morning from the hostels is truly a delight, creating an inspiring atmosphere for all.

Karunya Deemed University is proud to announce its new partnership with MongoDB, established during the prestigious Bridge’24 event organized by ICT Academy at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore. This MoU, witnessed by Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Hon’ble Minister of Information Technology & Digital Sciences, opens up incredible opportunities for our students to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and industry-driven projects.

In the ECE department, a group of final-year students formed Team Quantum Search and achieved remarkable success by being selected for the AMD AA contest. Competing against 8,500 teams worldwide, they secured a spot among the top 700. Their project culminated in the creation of a mini-PC valued at 60,000 rupees. Meanwhile, the Robotics and Mechanical Departments recently collaborated to form a new association, further enhancing interdisciplinary learning and innovation.

Seniors at Karunya are incredibly helpful and approachable. They are a constant source of motivation, inspiring us through their hard work and dedication to grow and excel.
