Big Bang or Evolution! – My Big question?
My mind constantly muses over these questions: “If the world began with a single quantum blast, why has no other big bang taken place ever since the first one? How many other worlds could have evolved? Why should this specific quantum result in the creation of the world and not the others? Isn’t there enough high density substance & temperature in the billions of years since the creation of the world for another big bang to take place? Why is it that the earliest of human remains found do not go back further than thousands of years? Why did the dinosaurs become extinct when they were the predators & not the prey? When and how did order come into place after the chaotic big bang? Isn’t it a marvel that a random explosion should give way to an orderly creation of immense beauty?
If Evolution is a change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations, why is it that we do not see freshly evolved, new beings walking out of the forests, seas & the beaches? Have these not been there for eons? If monkeys could become human, why have we not seen man evolve into a higher being? Why are monkeys still around and why have they all not evolved into men? ? If evolution happens over ages, how is it possible to evolve when the lifetime of these beings was finite & short? Did those monkeys live so long that they evolved? These mind-boggling questions gave me no peace and certainly no answer.
However, when I looked at the beauty and magnificence of just one such a creation, it told me a different story: the sun setting in its resplendent glory at the end of each day, is beauty beyond measure, the varied hues it conjures up, the predictability and precision it displays in faithfully giving way to the lesser light. It told me that such order and precision can only evolve from a higher order and not chaos. How I wish that Big Bang was true and it would take place in my house, so I wouldn’t have to tidy up, wash or clean!
For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20
I hear nature proclaim its maker’s name and I have no excuse but to see and believe that GOD made them all. Will you join me in believing this truth?
